the Way

Commercial photography for a photographer in Sydney is both challenging, frustrating and fulfilling.  The work is great. The opportunity to work with many different people from all sectors of the community is something almost unique to photography.  Seeing how other people live and work is exhilarating.  Being paid to do this is the bonus.  

As a commercial photographer I am flexible in my thinking and attitudes.  My clients have their own view on their products or services from their perspective.  I can influence the client as to how I will represent the image they have engaged me to create.  Many times I will come into an environment, a place of work which is alien to me.  I must listen to my client to gain an understanding of what they expect, how they see their product or service.  I will ask them to find images from publications, internet, brochures etc that they like.  I will also ask them to show me images that they do not want see.  This is the background to being able to satisfy the client.

Sitting before the key board I wonder who will read my first blogging words.  

This is a first for me, putting my thoughts and passions before the world.  Photography has always been a major part of my life both professionally and privately.  From the time I left school until now some, well lets just say a few years later my passion for the photographic image has never waned.  The world is full of wonderful opportunities.  

I have come into Sydney today to a seminar on internet marketing, but I find myself during the breaks looking into my surroundings.  The buildings, the roadways, the harbour all cry out to be captured.  It will not be today that I make the light and shadow of a glorious summer day mine to be held for all time.  I will be back for there are to many interesting things to see in our harbour city.
